Recently I’ve been becoming more and more interested with tapping into my own rhythm.
I’ve had too many weeks in my life of oscillating between packed-to-the-brim days and won’t-move-from-the-couch Sundays.
And that is sometimes inevitable (hello, life!) and sometimes satisfying, but what I’m talking about here is finding that sweet spot where you are HELLA productive, all the while sustaining an air of calm.
I'm devoted to finding the balance (that ol’ elusive one hey?) of laser beam focus and E A S E.
Of yin and yang.
Of the feminine and the masculine.
Of the doing and the being.
I want to really master the art of productivity, while feeling like I’m floating through my day with grace. Almost effortless.
I want to tune into my own energy - dynamic and diligent when it’s right, and pulling back when I need to.
I want to exercise when my body loves it the most. Use it to energise me, and to soften me.
I want to rest, without a hint of guilt, when I most desire to.
I want to create the structure in my life for creativity to flow.
I want to get (what is currently taking me) 9 hours of work done in 5.
I want to feel F R E E for those extra 4. Not riddled with guilt or dread, knowing the work (emails!) are piling up.
I know there will always be exceptions. I know that there will be times my creativity feels stagnant or the last thing I want to do is go for a walk, or load up an invoice. (I never don’t feel like coaching though, because: dream job!). When I’m tired or have crazy-huge projects or personal life-stuff going on.
But essentially I want to tap into MY ultimate flow. Most days. And I would love for you to consider how you could tap into yours.
How do you desire to feel as your head hits the pillow at night? Really, truly?
I desire to feel calm as anything. I desire to feel proud of what I have accomplished. I desire to feel content in knowing I honoured my own rhythm (which may have been a huge day, or a slower day).
I’m so fascinated by how different we all are to each other. For example, I have lots of creatives in my life, many that start to creatively flow after midnight. And others who are most on fire at midday. Why? I’m not quite sure. All I know is that we are all so beautifully unique and it’s important to become aware of OUR own rhythms.
So, let me ask you :::
When is your body most energetic?
When are you most alert?
When do your ideas flow?
When is your mind the quietest?
How can you (we!) implement this structure into our days?
I understand having a 9-5 in some ways restricts your ability to plan out your own days. But even within the structure, how can you allow yourself to thrive?
While becoming interested (read: obsessed) with the idea of finding my ultimate flow, it’s really helped me to :::
1// Listen to my body. Tune into my energy. How do I feel upon waking? Where are my energy levels at early afternoon? You get the picture.
2// Write it all down. Everything is always clearer when you put a pen to paper. Make an ideal day plan. Schedule it all in.
3// Play with the structure. Allow things to be shifted around if it’s not quite working.
Want to join me on the quest for flow? Let's do this!
